Photo Blog: Stormwater Basins

Stormwater basins are installed at the Mill Street Station Shops parking lot! Starting in January 2026, basins were delivered and installed underneath the parking lot. More than 350 individual pieces made up the basins, with the heaviest piece weighing approximately 23,000 pounds.

These basins are designed to efficiently manage stormwater runoff and help mitigate flooding in the area by collecting and redistributing stormwater at a controlled rate to local green spaces. The basins in the parking lot will tie into the basins installed in Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park once the project is complete.

Once installation completed in the spring, crews installed new medians, asphalt and pavement striping in the parking lot. See the progression of the delivery and installation below.
