Westport Stormwater Improvements Project

Project Overview

The Westport Stormwater Improvements project is designed to reduce frequent flooding along Mill Street between Southwest Trafficway and Dr. Jeremiah Cameron Park. While no project can eliminate flooding entirely, these improvements—combined with upgraded infrastructure and added storage—will mitigate frequent flooding in the district. Learn more about the project here.

Work Remaining

When construction resumes later this summer, crews will focus on finalizing the system and completing surface improvements, including:

  • Completing final stormwater inlet connections (including low-point areas near Westport Road)

  • Activating and automating the stormwater storage system

  • Final pavement restoration on Westport Road and 40th Street

  • Project-wide landscaping and sod installation

  • Installing the Westport logo at the raised intersection

What’s Next

Major construction activities are expected to wrap up by the end of 2026, with final punch list work completed in early 2027.
